Although historically inaccurate at times, it was inspirational to many. We were cautious about this 4k disk playing ok as we own the mark 2 version of Sonys X UHD player and had read other reviews about there being problems.
The new disc was cleaned with a microphibre cloth prior to playing. Once the disc began we had no problems at all and can report that Braveheart has a stunning 4k picture which shows a definite upkick in detail from the standard blu ray.
There is a very fine filmic grain that is barely noticeable and the colours although very blue in hue are deep and rich with green and reds really popping.
The Dolby Atmos track is ok Well worth the trade up from standard blu ray. Report abuse. This was my favourite film back in , went to the cinema around 6 times to see it.
Twenty five years on, it is a great example of film-making at it's best. I can now see this is not a historically accurate documentary on William Wallace, but a fictional adaptation of his life.
As long as the viewer realises this, they should enjoy it. Blu-Ray picture quality is stunning. Still one of my favourite films of all time.
