Can he find the terrorist in time and save everyone? The alcoholic and discredited air marshal Bill Marks is a former cop that still grieves the death of his eight year-old daughter that died of leukemia.
Bill is assigned to a flight from New York to London and the passenger Jen Summers sits on his side in the first-class. When the plane is crossing the Atlantic Ocean, Bill receives text messages telling him that one passenger will die every twenty minutes unless the TSA air flight company transfers million dollars to an offshore account.
Bill contacts his superior that does not believe in his words. Further they discover that the bank account is in the name of Bill. Now Bill has to find the terrorist with only the support of Jen and the flight attendant Nancy and soon he finds a bomb on board.
But the TSA representative believes that Bill is the terrorist. Will he succeed in saving the passengers lives? After furtively knocking back a stiff drink in the airport parking lot, he enters the crowded terminal to board a plane bound for London.
Carefully observing his fellow travelers along the way, Marks eventually ends up seated next to nervous flyer Jen Julianne Moore , who begins to breathe easier once she's seated near a window.
But the harder Marks works to identify a suspect, the deeper he implicates himself in what becomes a deadly hostage crisis unfolding at 30, feet over the Atlantic Ocean.
When it's revealed that the account for the ransom money is in Marks' name, the FAA revokes his marshal status and the media paints him as a hijacker.
As the frightened passengers begin to turn on Marks, he suspects the true culprit may not even be on the plane. Parents Guide. External Sites. User Reviews.

Excellent script that keeps you guessing and trying to figure out "who dun it. He gets a great supporting cast as well. The only downside to this film was that when the film started it almost seemed like the first minutes were cut and just dropped you right into the film.
A little confusing but nothing extreme to take away from the rest of the film. Patrick W Super Reviewer. Jun 05, Positives: 1.
Liam Neeson is awesome, enough said. But in all seriousness, you care about his character throughout the entire film and he displays this masculinity about his character, and he definitely fits this type of role.
Julianne Moore was also good too. The tone; this film is very thrilling and pretty suspenseful. I was glued to the screen for the most part and I cared about everything coming out of everyone's mouth.
I was also invested in finding the bad guy and I had confidence that Liam Neeson's character knew what he was doing despite all the negative stuff happening to him.
Negatives: 1. This film has a tonal shift once the final act happens and things go down. Before the final act this film was very claustrophobic and very grounded and thrilling.
Once the final act happens it turns into this cliche action movie, especially a scene with slow motion and stuff that happens that make no sense.
Despite all of that I still did enjoy it. The final act felt tact on and I was kind of expecting more, however I was still invested.
It is kind of cliche, nothing about it is really original. It does kind of copy off other films but it is to be expected with most action movies these days.
Overall: Non-Stop is a claustrophobic, thrilling and entertaining time. The premise and such is quite familiar but you'll probably have a good time and Liam Neeson definitely kicks ass as usual.
Check it out. Diyar G Super Reviewer. Feb 08, Intense and very entertaining airplane thriller that perfectly uses its limited space for quite a built-up of suspense.
The closer we get to an oddly over the top action finale, the more we're losing track of any signs of logic of coherence.
Thankfully, before the film is spinning into unintentionally funny chaos, the road to that is pretty exciting. Jens S Super Reviewer.
Feb 20, What does this title even mean? I guess it means the action and suspense is Anyone else notice that some action flick titles are getting really obscure these days, especially Liam Neeson action flicks.
I mean seriously So anyway Neeson is a recovering alcoholic whose young daughter died from cancer years ago, oh and he also lost his job as a cop Now he's an air marshal flying from New York to London which he doesn't really enjoy doing.
What I initially found amusing was all the stereotypical passengers which are automatically racially profiled, the main target naturally being a Muslim or at least someone of Middle Eastern descent , a black youth and just a bunch of random looking white people.
But as we all know the terror suspect yeah its that kind of flick as if you didn't know could be anyone. A plane load of civvies, one on the edge air marshal, one love interest and one obligatory cute little girl.
Then all hell breaks loose as Marks Neeson starts getting threat texts on his special air marshal smartphone thingy. The whole premise does seem quite ridiculous really, in reality if this happened I'm sure they wouldn't do anything and just land the plane.
As they say in the film it would be hard and obvious eventually if someone did start murdering folk on a plane. What also bugged me was the attitude of the passengers on this flight.
Marks starts to take control and needs people to cooperate with his instructions and everyone starts whining and bitching.
Oh you can't do this, you don't have the right, who put you in charge?? I'll be honest, this film had me, I genuinely was unsure who would turn out to be the bad guy.
You know to suspect everybody of course, in flicks like this we all know half the time its the heroes partner or person he made friends with on the plane or the nerdy guy that comes across as useless and weak ahem.
But yeah I went through everyone thinking ah its gotta be him or her, but I was totally wrong so kudos there.
I also didn't know that flights have a special closed wi-fi network or secure line for air marshals, unless of course that's a movie thing. I know wi-fi on international flights isn't really a proper thing yet.
Again I'll be honest, this film did have me on the edge of my seat for the most part. The plot isn't overly original but the slow building tension as things are amped up and Marks is seen as the actual threat does work nicely.
I felt quite uneasy during the run time, I found myself really wanting Neeson's character to just explain from the start what has happened. When some passengers attack Marks, Bowen stops them, believing that the bomb is the first priority.
Marks convinces the others of his innocence, and has them move the bomb to the rear and surround it with luggage to direct the blast outward, while everybody moves to the front of the airplane.
Marks tells Kyle to descend to 8, feet, as the current pressure differential will destroy the airplane if the bomb explodes, although the escorting jets refuse to let Kyle deviate from his course.
Marks, watching the earlier video, notices Bowen planting the phone on Wheeler, therefore implicating Bowen as the true hijacker and mastermind of the murders; White is Bowen's accomplice.
Their goal was to frame Marks as a terrorist, thus ruining the reputation of the Air Marshals Service. Marks persuades White, who is more in it for the money, to try to disarm the bomb.
Bowen, who wishes to die on the plane in a suicide mission, doesn't allow this and double-crosses White. Kyle suddenly descends the plane to 8, feet, giving Marks the opportunity to shoot and kill Bowen.
White attacks Marks, still wanting to escape the aircraft, but the bomb detonates, killing him and blowing open the back of the plane.
Despite the damage, Kyle manages to land the plane safely in Iceland. Marks is praised as a hero. He and Summers make plans for the start of a possible future together.
This was the inaugural movie filmed at York Studios. The original motion picture soundtrack was composed by John Ottman. The website's critical consensus reads: "While Liam Neeson is undoubtedly an asset, Non-Stop wastes its cast — not to mention its solid premise and tense setup—on a poorly conceived story that hinges on a thoroughly unbelievable final act.
Chris Nashawaty, writing for Entertainment Weekly , delivered a positive review, grading it "B", and observing: "At a certain point either you'll fasten your seat belt and go with Non-Stop' s absurd, Looney Tunes logic or you won't.
Against my better judgment, I went with it. After all, Neeson has shown time and again that he's the closest thing Hollywood has these days to a box office Rumpelstiltskin.
He can spin cheese into gold. Neeson enjoys a nice, relaxed rapport with Moore, whose looser, Keaton -esque side seems to come out when cast opposite noble hunks.
On June 11, , Entertainment Weekly reported that in an interview with producer Joel Silver , he talked about the possibility of a sequel , and stated that it will not be happening on a plane again.
But when I make a sequel I like to replicate the experience, not replicate the movie. I'm not going to put them on a plane again, of course.
He has a touch of Sherlock Holmes in that he has to figure out what's going on and then he has to figure out how to solve it. I think that character's a great character and we'll try to figure something else to do.
I haven't thought about it yet. But I have to, sooner or later. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. Theatrical release poster.
